How to Use Castor Oil for Hair

1. Castor Oil & Coconut Oil:
A tablespoon of castor oil and four tablespoons of coconut oil would help you strengthen your hair follicles and keep them from falling too. What you need to do is to warm the two oils together and apply them from tip to root. Do this thrice a week and leave it overnight. Wash it off with warm water the next morning.
2. Sesame Oil & Castor Oil:
Mix half a cup of sesame oil with two tablespoons of castor oil for this recipe. Warm the oils together and apply from tip to root. Use a warm towel soaked in hot water as a turban around your head for half an hour. Wash the hair with warm water thereafter, and pat dry. This should be done twice a week for long lasting effects
3. Castor Oil to Stop Hair Loss:
Although there are numerous causes for hair fall and loss, the major contributing factors are brittle, unhealthy hair and scalp caused by , scalp infections and frequent use of hair styling products, containing harsh chemicals. However, gentle scalp massage using castor oil twice a week before a wash works well for hair fall fortifying the hair shafts.

The castor oil also severs as a natural moisturizer. It leaves a coating on the hair-shafts to retain the hair moisture. Especially, the omega-6 fatty acids property of castor oil prevents the hair shafts to become dried out. Adequate moisture is essential to grow hair faster in a natural way.

Castor oil does not only strengthen the hair, but also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which can help combat and prevent scalp infections like ringworm, and folliculitis. Castor oil can prevent the growth of micro-organisms like bacteria and fungus which can affect your scalp’s health and contribute to bald patches and hair loss. To use castor oil for hair loss, apply it twice a week to the scalp, leaving for at least 30 minutes before washing off.
7. Castor Oil for Hair Shine:
Castor oil can increase the luster of your hair, due to its ability to form a protective coat on the hair shaft. The oil makes the hair smoother, thereby reflecting more light. Using castor oil as a conditioner or hot oil treatment at least once a week benefits dull hair by making it shiny and smooth, but do not overdo it or you could end up with an oily scalp.
